SNAPS, BUTTONS, AND CLIPS

It's fun being a seamstress even though it takes a while to get the hang of things! Mr. Michael Murray returned to THEARC today to teach how to sew different buttons and snaps on fabric. The class learned a lot about paying attention to detail. It takes time and patience to sew and you have to be extra careful to get things done right the first time, so you do not have to retry things over and over. These are great skills to contribute to a professional job...patience, precision, and paying attention to detail. Not to mention, it's a great idea to teach people how to replace a button on a business suit. It's funny how this workshops can teach skills in a not so obvious way.

Here is Norris Wiggins showing his skills....he is pretty good at this sewing thing

This is a picture of Norris Wiggins, so you can put a face to the name. Smile Norris!

A FUN DAY AT THE SPALSH PARK

Today we had the privilege to meet Dante and Delonte, the two William C. Smith "We can Soar" participates, at the Splash Park. They both handle the concession stand, which consists of making popcorn, hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, snow cones, and more. I commend them for working on hot day. We had the chance to interview them about the program. Here is Dante's perspective, he's a little camera shy:
